Good reading: Montpelier’s 24-Hour Comic challenge 2011 collection

October 6th, 2011 by Daniel Barlow · 5 Comments

24-Hour Comics was a huge success again this year in Montpelier, Vt, as about 20 cartoonists, artists and illustrators camped out in Montpelier City Hall from Oct. 1-2. Not everyone made it to page 24, although we had several people drawing comics up until the last minute.

Selections from the comics will be on display at Bagitos Bagel and Burrito Cafe in Montpelier starting this Friday as part of the city’s Art Walk event. But there was such demand to read the whole comics, so we decided to share them all with you here in PDF format. Enjoy!

It’s so inspiring to see all the different sorts of folks that come out to an event that one might assume would only attract hardcore cartoonists! Ari’s is one of the most entertaining 24-hour comics I’ve ever read.

I was recovering from a cold, so instead of doing the full challenge I just socialized & worked on my Halloween comic (which, uh, is available in batches from me or as part of the T&H Halloween comics pack, both suitable for giving out on Halloween…).

Thanks so much, guys. I haven’t had so much fun in a long, long time.

    TO: Jeff Potter

Are you the Jeff Potter who illustrated a SF/Mystery story in 1978?

I wrote the stories, and am planning to re-do the series. I’m trying to locate the artist, Jeff Potter who did the art for one of the stories.

    Please let me know.

    Hi, Priscilla,

Sorry, I was 12 years old in 1978. Must be another Jeff Potter! (There are a few of us out there.)
