James Kochalka Superstar: Britney’s Silver Can
This fan video for the Kochalka song is almost as wonderfully tedious as the song itself.
“Just Timberlake, Justin Timberlake …”
Watch it!

The Final Piece!
November 17th, 2006 by Colin Tedford · 1 Comment
The Trees & Hills Comics Page is finally online! The first two strips are both T&H-related things by me, but we’ll be adding more strips by various people in the coming weeks.
Although there are still things to do, and in some sense always will be, the site as we envisioned it is now essentially complete!

Cartoonists’ Gathering and More
November 15th, 2006 by Colin Tedford · No Comments
This Saturday 10/18 there will be a get-together for cartoonists at Trees & Hills confounder Daniel Barlow‘s apartment in Brattleboro, VT from 12-5pm. We will socialize, draw, discuss plans for our anthology release parties and tabling at MoCCA, and more. For more info (like how to get there), email barlowdaniel at gmail dot com.
In other news, I’d like to welcome Vermont cartoonists Steve Hogan and Matt Reno & Massachusetts cartoonist “Thanatos Omega” to our link list.
Also, I added two items to the Resources page. One is a template for those of you who like writing comic scripts in Word. The other is an excellent blog called Comic Tools, run by MK Reed. Each weekday she posts a response to her survey about what tools cartoonists use. The latest 3 respondents today are Adrian Tomine, Alec Longstreth, and Bryan Lee O’Malley.

We came, we saw, we sold some comics
October 31st, 2006 by Daniel Barlow · 1 Comment

Trees & Hills debut at the Comic Book Show in Nashua, N.H. Sunday can be considered a networking success, although probably not a financial one. This is the new Talking Point. Please spread the word.
I think I sold 10 copies of the new anthology. Man, I pitched that thing. I pitched it to middle-aged women, Alan Moore fangirls, superhero nuts, goth kids and fanboys. One woman even asked me to sign my contribution, the first chapter of NUKE TOWN with Keith Moriarty and Zach Stephens.
Next dates for the show: April 1, 2007 and Oct. 14, 2007.
T&H co-founder Colin Tedford, meanwhile, was across the country at Stumptown in Portland, Ore. He checked in via e-mail a day or two ago with this dispatch, “Send guns and ammo. Food too. All dead here. Stay away.”
Oops. Wrong e-mail. Sorry. He actually had this to say, “I sold 1 antho & traded 6; sold 14 other comics, traded 11. I was a little disappointed, but things seemed to go
slow for some other folks as well (Julia Wertz, for example, who came over
& traded some minis).”
